Not named yet, and not ready to pay? There's a third way in.
This is for a business that hasn't been recommended by locals yet, isn't ready for a Sponsored page, but wants a genuine shot at being featured anyway.
Why PR still matters
I started my career in PR, before SEO, and long before any of this. It's where I learned that the right story, told to the right person, changes everything, and that lesson hasn't gone anywhere. A genuine invitation to come and try something is still one of the oldest, most direct ways a business gets a fair, considered look from someone whose opinion locals actually trust.
It's also different from paying. Paying guarantees a page. An invitation guarantees a fair, considered look, and nothing else.
How it works
You invite us
A gifted experience, a product to try, a preview, whatever genuinely lets us see what you do. Get in touch through the contact details below.
We genuinely experience it
The same way we would if we'd paid for it ourselves. No script, no approval process, no promise of what gets said.
If we like it, we talk about it
A mention in the right category, or a full write-up in our editorial guides, depending on the fit. Always clearly marked as an invitation.
If we don't like it, we don't write about it. There's no negative write-up either, positive is the only thing this site ever publishes, so a visit that doesn't land simply doesn't turn into a mention. Nothing is owed in either direction: you're not owed coverage for the invitation, and we're not owed anything for saying yes to it.
What you're inviting is a fair, considered look. What happens after that depends entirely on what we actually find.
Always disclosed
Same rule as everywhere else on this site: nothing gets hidden about how it got here. If a mention comes from an invitation, that's said plainly, the same way a Sponsored page is marked as paid and a "My pick" is marked as our own visit. You'll always be able to tell a gifted experience from a genuine "Named in local groups" mention, because we'll always say which one it is.
Tell us what you'd like us to try, and why it's worth a look.
